Bitesize Learning Zone

Bitesize Learning Zone is also where you'll catch new episodes of Bitesize Daily Primary, focusing on maths, English and (from spring term 2022), geography. These programmes will include lessons from teachers and will also see a dedicated wellbeing day, designed to encourage good mental and physical health.

However, educators ranked the ability to analyse and solve problems using logic as unlikely to be as important as other skills, including communication, resilience and proactivity. ThinkUKnow is the education programme from NCA-CEOP, a UK organisation which protects children both online and offline. They have created resources to support parents during Covid-19 and the closure of schools.

The John Muir Trust is a charity that was founded in 1983 - "We believe wild places are essential for the wellbeing of people and wildlife". https://www.johnmuirtrust.org/

Pupils at Willow Bank School take part in the John Muir Award scheme as part of their outdoor classroom and Science curriculum. It is an environmental award scheme for people of all backgrounds – groups, families, individuals. It’s non-competitive, inclusive and accessible. Pupils at Willow Bank complete a variety of activities that contribute towards the time required to achieve their Explorer or Discovery Award.

To support our pupils and provide an alternative way of learning we will be uploading John Muir Award activities that pupils can carry out in their gardens or on their social distancing daily walks, either independently or with their families.

Below you will find details of how your child can learn using the online Oak National Academy website and interactive resources.

The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people. Also a weekly assembly which covers a range of themes which you can watch live or play the video at a later date.
